QUANTUM — ALL YOUR ANSWERS WILL BE QUESTIONED

BACKGROUND

Oliver Warden is a Los Angeles based artist and filmmaker whose practice moves between sculpture, installation, performance, video, and interactive media. For more than three decades, he has explored what happens when a viewer stops simply watching and begins to alter the work.

He earned a BFA in Sculpture with Honors from the School of Visual Arts and a master’s degree from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program, an early graduate program in new media. While studying at SVA, he conceived Untitled Box in 1993. He later returned to the idea as Untitled Box 2.0, performing it in New York at School Nite, presented in partnership with the New Museum’s Festival of Ideas for the New City, and at the Affordable Art Fair.

Warden’s work has also been presented at White Columns, Danziger Projects, and the Islip Art Museum. His projects and exhibitions have been covered by The New York Times, Newsweek, and The Boston Globe.

Quantum extends this long investigation through interactive, gamified performance and cinematic audience participation. Each encounter is shaped by the decisions of the person who engages with it, carrying the work beyond its physical form into a personalized film.
